DELTA ZETA

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA | ALPHA GAMMA CHAPTER | est. 1922

Although the University of Alabama is home to tens of thousands, Delta Zeta’s core value of belonging makes our chapter feel like family. Friendships made in DZ are for more than four years - they are for life. Our philanthropy provides life changing opportunities to those struggling with speech and hearing. We work with national, local, and campus wide services to improve accessible care and spread awareness. Our programming empowers members through all aspects of their collegiate and alumni careers. Our chapter fosters strong academics, professional development, campus involvement, and positive community impact.

WHY DELTA ZETA

  • Cassie Avignone

“Hi everyone! My name is Cassie Avignone and I am a freshman in PC ‘23. Since junior year of high school I knew I wanted to attend the University of Alabama. Being a former dancer, I always had a big group of girls by side through it all and I knew I wanted to have that in college as well. Little did I know that Delta Zeta was everything and more I could have hoped for! Going through recruitment the nerves were definitely there, but when I arrived at Delta Zeta the first girl I talked to ended up becoming my big. Gia was definitely one of the top reasons I went DZ! She made me feel so loved and welcomed! Our conversations were so genuine and down to earth. I was so excited to go back each and every round to meet more members of Delta Zeta. Everyone that I met during recruitment was so easy to talk to, there was no doubt in my mind that Delta Zeta was my forever home. To top it all off I got to run home with my roommate Paige who is also from my hometown. Having Paige by my side truly made this experience 10 times better. Delta Zeta has given me so many opportunities to become involved on campus and with my academics. I am so beyond grateful for all the friends I have made who have become my sisters and so much more. My sisters truly have made such a big school feel like home. I wouldn’t change my experience for the world. GO DZ!”

  • Isabelle Wylie

“Hi everyone!!! My name is Isabelle Wylie and I’m a freshman in PC’ 23. I always knew I wanted to come to the University of Alabama, but being from upstate NY, I knew it was very far away. I wanted to find my home away from home & find my forever friends. Coming into recruitment I was super nervous, but the second I walked into Delta Zeta, I knew it was it for me. Every girl that I talked to throughout recruitment made me feel so loved & the conversations were so easy. After every round when I walked out of DZ, I had the biggest smile on my face. When I opened my card on bid day and saw Delta Zeta, I couldn’t have been happier. Everyone here has been so welcoming and supportive and I can’t wait to make so many more memories with my sisters!! I’m grateful everyday that I went DZ🤍💚”

  • Sofia Pepin

“When I walked into Delta Zeta I immediately knew I had found a special place. I always grew up around sisters and had a ton of girl friends, but I could never imagine finding such an amazing group of women as I have in this chapter. During the sisterhood round of recruitment I met my soon to be big, Blakelee, and from then on I knew I wanted to be a Delta Zeta. Every day I walk into the house and can immediately find a friend to brighten up my day, which is what makes this chapter so special to me. I have met my best friends for life and I couldn’t be happier to be a DZ💚”
